I got my luggage at baggage claim and find it kinda funny that I literally walked out of the airport without anyone checking anything.  So, baggage was no problem.  I walked out to find the Metro and couldn’t for the life of me find a sign on where to go.  So I decided to take a Taxi to Chamartin Station.  It was 18 Euros.  I arrived 10 minutes later at the train station and no one spoke English.  My concern was missing the train and spending the next day trying to figure out how to use the phone.  I managed to communicate and got a ticket for the next train.  And then got in touch with Maria Jose. 

It’s really nice here.  The scenery is beautiful.  They have so many windmills on the mountains for wind power.

The train was really hot.  I wanted tell someone that I was really hot but wouldn’t mean anything since they have no idea of what I am saying.  It should be 4PM by the time I arrive in Medina del Campo.  My suitcase weighs a ton.  Almost 30kg, but worth it.  It’s full of coats and collars.

5:00 PM – Medina del Campo, Hotel La Mota

I arrived at the station in Medina del Campo at 4:00PM.  Karen from the U.K. picked me up.  It was nice to see a familiar face… especially one that spoke English!  She drove me Hotel La Mota and was back later to pick me up for drinks at 7 PM.

I had a nice hot shower and called home.  I get to relax tonight and start my first day at Scooby tomorrow morning.  I miss home but it’s nice to be here and know that I don’t have to worry about travel for the time being.
