| My day started at
9:30. I checked on Frodo and Bella. Both were okay. I
played with Frodo for a little bit and cleaned his bedding and gave
him fresh water and food. I started cleaning the puppies. As
usual they were very dirty. For being so small, they sure make
a big mess. Afterwards I helped Tomas clean paddock 1 through
4. Once that was done I checked on Mila. She is really
sweet. Loves get hugs. I cleaned the concrete and the
section where Jack and the two shy girls are. I found out today
that Jack has distemper. He was treated and is doing well. He
has an unusual head bopping motion, which is normal with dogs that
have this. Jack wags his tail when I approach him, which is
heart warming. I am glad I was there for him when he was being
picked on. I’m afraid to think of what may have happened. The
two black girls are starting to trust me more. I haven’t
managed to get close enough to put a coat on them but I am trying.
I did another sweep of the quarantine turned the heat lamps on and
went to see Lorenzo. He is still scared of me.
Fermin came in today. It was nice to meet him. I don’t
know how he does it. He is a school teacher during the day,
helps his mother with the family farm and after that he comes to
Scooby.
I finished in the quarantine and then went back to see the Jack
and the two females. There were only two dog houses, so Freddy
helped me put another in. I set them up all cozy and warm.
Later Fermin and I spoke in the kitchen. I had Frodo on my
lap. He is such a sweet boy. We discussed Lorenzo and
the possibility of him coming back home with me. Unfortunately,
Lorenzo won’t be coming home with me because he needs someone
to be home with him 24 hours a day for him to adjust. Of course,
Tim and I can’t be home for that amount of time. So we decided
that Lorenzo would be going on the transport to Holland that weekend. I
am sad because I know he would be happy with us. He had been
such a part of this journey with me. His picture greeting me
every morning on my computer. I am happy that I got the opportunity
to meet him and was able to touch him. I am sure he will have
a wonderful home in Holland.
There was the possibility of Frodo coming home with me, but Tim and
I decided that Frodo needs just as much time as Lorenzo, since he is
a puppy. |
