Today, the dogs were very restless.  A lot of barking and fighting.  I checked on Bella in the morning.  She was okay but did not eat anything.  She is healing slowly but I am concerned about her lack of appetite.  I checked on Frodo.  He is becoming very playful and needy.  Crying as I leave his cage.  There was a little girl that was crying the in quarantine last night, so Maria Jose placed her inside in one of the kennels beneath Frodo.  She and two other dogs were taken to the vet today.  The two dogs were getting fixed as they are adopted to a family in Holland and will be travelling there this weekend.  The girl ended up having a temperature, but no other symptoms.  The vet sent her home with some antibiotics.  She did eat her dinner and I then took her for a walk.  I cleaned the puppies and the concrete as usual and also the garden and paddock 4.

Mila is becoming very needy and cries as I walk by her cage.  It’s so hard not to just open the door, go in and hug her.  But for her, I would not be doing her a favour.  I am leaving in a few days so it’s no fair for me to love on her and then leave her.  I have this problem with all the dogs.  I so badly want to hug and love them.  And I do, but I really could stand there all day and not move.  It the most amazing feeling having 10, 15, 20 dogs around you.  I take time in each paddock, each kennel or quarantine and interact with the dogs.  They need some social human contact if they are to become adopted.  Of course, I always have to remember that I will not be here forever, so it’s not fair to give them all that love and then leave.  As I crouch down, they kiss me, try to bite my hair or run off with my hat.  They nibble on my ears or tuck their heads in as close to me as possible.

They love being loved.
