Today started out very cold and foggy and stayed this way well into the afternoon.  Being that it was Thursday already, I needed to take some video and pictures.  I checked on Bella who had still not eaten, which worries me greatly.  I checked on Frodo and the girl below him.  We took her temperature again and it was down a little bit but still above normal.  I took her for another walk and settled her in her kennel.

There was another wounded dog, in paddock 7.  Nothing too serious, but wounded nonetheless.  We set him up with Mila.  They both have the same injuries.  Mila seems to like his company and isn’t whining anymore.  I guess she missed the company.  They share a dog house and snuggle together.  We gave him a coat and set up more bedding for them.

I managed to make contact with the two girls that are sharing the space with Jack and give them coats.  It’s a great feeling when you know that they are finally starting to trust you.  Unfortunately, another dog was wounded in paddock 8, so he too is now sharing that space.  We added another dog house to make 4 in total.  They all get along so well, even though they all have different personalities, different reasons as to why there are here.  They are beautiful.

Today went so quickly.  I love caring for the dogs, maybe that’s why the days and minutes escape me.  I am really enjoying my time here and cherish every second.

Later that evening I asked Fermin how Scooby came to be.  He said, “In short.  One day I became crazy, I think.”  The long story.  Scooby was a mix rescue going bankrupt."  There was an article in the paper and Fermin saw it.  Within three days, Scooby was his.  The dogs were going to be euthanized, so Fermin decided that he would be their savior.  He said, “I like dogs, so why not save them?”  I hope one day, I too will get to go “crazy” like this.

I doesn’t look like I will be returning with a dog this time.  But I do know who I will keep my eye out for when I return.  Mila, Jack, Sophie and of course Bella and the white Galgo in the bachelor pad and all the other 495 dogs!

\I miss home, but the thought of leaving tomorrow makes my heart hurt.  I can’t believe what an emotional experience this has been.  The dogs at Scooby are and will be forever in my thoughts and heart.  I know I will return to Scooby soon and won’t be leaving alone.
