Today was a very busy day.  First we checked on all the dogs in the corridor.  I checked on Bella, who was still not eating.  Being that it was my last day, I was concerned that she may not make it.  Click here to read Bella’s story.

Rinus and another lady arrived late in the day from Holland.  They drove 23 hours straight to transport the dogs to Holland.  My sweet Lorenzo will be leaving Scooby today.  After 1 1/2 years at Scooby, I pray that he adjusts and enjoys the life that he deserves.  I took a lot of video and pictures yesterday.  Mila was calmer today, as she now has a friend whom she shares a bed with.  Jack and the girls and the other wounded dog from paddock 8 were good too.  Jack was starting to trust me more and always greeted me at the gate.  The girls made me wait and sit until they approached me if I need to tend to them.  But I was finally able to touch them, hug them and tell them how beautiful they are.

My departure from Scooby was emotional.  I knew it would be.  Heck I was crying before I even came.  Again, I can’t believe I am leaving without a dog.  Bella has a special place in my heart, as she was the first dog I saw at Scooby.  She was my number priority every morning. Her success on my last day was very meaningful and I look forward to seeing her again.

Maria Jose and Fermin, are amazing people and so amazing with the dogs.  They care for them as if it was their own dogs in their own homes.  They are truly Angels on Earth.  The dogs live in a wonderful place.  The Galgo are so special.  I have finally found my passion.  Dogs… and in my heaven there are hundreds of them… just like Scooby.
